I am an experienced USCG 100GT Captain for hire as a private yacht or day captain, or for deliveries, surveys, boat or yacht driving lessons, and boat or yacht purchase guidance, assistance, and oversight. I hold Master designations for both Great Lakes and Near Coastal applications.

I have more than 40 years of experience on the Great Lakes, Atlantic, Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean, and inland rivers running vessels up to 150 feet in length. I have been the Chief Engineer on a 130-foot research and salvage vessel, captain of a sunset cruise, and driver for two offshore powerboat racing teams. I am also an experienced marine technician and a certified diver.

I am currently the private captain of two 70-foot yachts in West Michigan, and I regularly operate each for their owners during the summer season.

I’ve been teaching people to operate powerboats for nearly 30 years. I have worked for boat dealerships for most of my marine career and developed a reliable system that enables me to teach people how to drive boats, especially bigger boats.

Working in the marine industry has also given me great customer service skills and the experience you need at the helm. I love to teach people to drive boats and provide instruction in everything from general boat driving skills to docking lessons. I also include care and maintenance, safety and more. I am available for vessel relocation anywhere around the Great Lakes. I regularly deliver boats between Michigan and Chicago or Milwaukee and am happy to take on your multiple-day, longer-distance relocations as well.

I am an experienced private yacht captain and can operate your private vessel while you enjoy a party or family event onboard. In other words, you drink and have fun, I’ll drive and be responsible for your vessel.

I’ll operate the boat so you can enjoy the party.
