It’s pretty easy to use out of date photos that show a boat looking it’s best when you want to sell a boat that’s looking it’s worst.
If you find your dream boat in West Michigan and don’t live nearby, you can hire a marine professional to perform a pre-purchase inspection and verify the vessel‘s condition, seaworthiness, and value.
Once the boat’s condition has been verified and you know it’s the boat you want to buy, the next step is to commision a complete marine survey. A survey examines the boat’s sturctural and mechanical condition, looking for hidden problems that could lead to costly repairs or dangerous conditions.
Do not buy a used boat without getting it surveyed first. Hire a pro to check it out
Sunset Cruises –
About 2 hours on Lake Michigan aboard my 40 foot Sea Ray watching the sun go down. We leave one hour before sunset, and return around 30 minutes after. Weather permitting, trips are available Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, please call ahead to book. Sunset cruise costs are $150 for up to 4 people, and $50 for each additional person over the first 4. I can accommodate 8 people comfortably. Bring your own food and drink, I can provide plates, cups, etc., and of course there’s nothing for you to clean up when we return. Enjoy the ride and view, I’ll do the rest.
Captain Your Vessel –
Would you like to take the family or friends out and spend time enjoying their company instead of running the boat? Let me drive while you relax and enjoy the ride or a swim while someone else worries about the anchor. Half day (3 hour) trips are available for $175, and full day (6 hour) trips are for $300. Or, if you aren’t sure you can hire me for as long as you need for $50 per hour. There is a minimum charge of $50.
Sightseeing Trips –
Sightseeing or just fun trips are available for half days, full days, or hourly trips. 3 hour half day trips on your boat are $175, full day 6 hour trips on your boat are $300. Hourly trips are $50 per. Bring your refreshments and sunscreen and leave the driving and worrying to me.
Sightseeing or Cruising Trips on My Boat –
Cruises on my boat are a little more expensive since I have to pay for the gas and insurance of course. I can take you from Saugatuck up to Lake Macatawa with a swim stop either before or after if you like, or just cruise up the coast a bit and anchor up to enjoy the water. It’s your choice and I am at your service.
New Boaters –
Looking to purchase a new or used boat and don’t know where to start? Already bought a boat and want to know what gear you need? Just looking for some knowledge and guidance? I can help. I have been helping new boaters get comfortable for more than 30 years. Half day, full day, or hourly rates are the same as for Instruction and Handling or $50 per hour with a one hour minimum.
